The SOLDESALBIO project continues to make progress in the development of innovative solutions for sustainable desalination and the efficient use of water and energy resources. During the follow-up meeting held on April 14 at the IFAPA Research Center, project partners reviewed the progress achieved across the different work areas and defined the next planned activities.
Among the main milestones highlighted was the implementation of the RO+CAES pilot plant at the Plataforma Solar de Almería (PSA), where experimental testing activities are expected to begin soon.

In addition, the University of Almería (UAL) presented promising results related to the production and drying of macroalgae under different salinity conditions.
The meeting also enabled further progress in the integration of energy and desalination models, including RO systems, CAES storage, photovoltaic generation, and macroalgae production. The objective is to develop a comprehensive simulation of the integrated system proposed within SOLDESALBIO.
Furthermore, new scientific dissemination activities and the preparation of joint publications were agreed upon, reinforcing collaboration among all project partners.
